Sherri Ladonna Payton Barr, 63 long time area resident passed from this life on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at her home in Commerce, OK after a long illness. Sherri was born February 13, 1960 in Miami, OK. Sherri was the daughter of Richard and Wanda (Payne) Barr. She attended Baxter Springs High School with the class of 1978. She worked for Northeast Tribal Health for 16 years. In her spare time, she made flower arrangements and wreaths. Sherri was very proud of her family, especially her grandkids the she loved dearly. Sherri is preceded in death by her father, Richard Barr; two brothers, Mike and Bobby Barr; maternal grandparents, Willie Jewel Payne and Doris D. Payne. Sherri is survived by her mother, Wanda Barr of Baxter Springs; two daughters, Shannon (Payton) Gregory of Carthage, MO, and April (Payton) Killough and husband Billy of Bluejacket, OK; three granddaughters, Elin Vaughn of Miami, OK, Koti and Reiney Killough of Bluejacket, OK; four grandsons, Landon Ross of Commerce, OK, Jonas Gregory and wife Shelby and their kids of Miami, OK, Jacob Gregory of Quapaw, OK and Jace Gregory of Quapaw, OK; special uncle David and Aunt Alice Payne and their children of Miami, OK; two great grandchildren and a host of relatives and loved ones.
