    Sunday, March 26, 2006 Kenneth R. Mercer of Joplin, Mo., died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at his home. He was 76. Mercer was born Oct. 7, 1929, in Springdale, Ark., to Elzie and Esther (Rhodes) Mercer. He moved to Joplin in 1997 from Zincville. He was a miner and a welder and worked for American Fixture in Joplin for 14 years. He was a member of the Bass Pro Club, the Handyman's Club and a bowling league for many years. He was of the Baptist faith. He married Pat Mercer in July, 1997, in Joplin, Mo. She survives, of the home. Additional survivors include two sons, David Mercer of Miami and Steve Mercer of South Carolina; one daughter, Linda Nothnagle of Seneca, Mo.; one sister, Louise Bailey of Fayetteville, Ark.; one stepson, Tom Evansco, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brothers. Services were held at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce with the Rev. Paul Milenkin officiating. Burial location: Council House Cemetery, west of Tiff City, Mo. Pallbearers were David Mercer, Bob Brewer, Howard Beason, Rick Moran, Tom Evansco and Paul Soles. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Mercer, Jamie Judy and Linda Nothnagle.
