      Mary Ellen (Wabaunsee) Dainty
      Mary Ellen (Wabaunsee) Dainty, 84, retired registered nurse, died Jan. 29. Vigil 7-8 p.m. Friday, Paul Thomas Funeral Home, and funeral Mass 10 a.m. Saturday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mary Ellen Wabaunsee Dainty age 84 of Miami, Ok passed away January 29, 2010 at Goodyear, AZ, after a short illness. Mary was born June 22, 1925 in Wyandotte, OK to John Sanford Wabaunsee and Florence Isabelle Hubbard Wabaunsee. Mary attended Wyandotte Indian School through 9th grade and graduated 12th grade at Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas in 1944. In the fall she enrolled in Nurses School in Joplin, MO where she graduated in 1947. After taking exams she became a Registered Nurse. During her career Mary worked at St. Johns Hospital in Joplin. She married M.G. “Bud” Dainty in 1947; they lived in Neosho, MO a very short time, before moving to Dumas, TX in 1949 where they resided for 10 years. While living in Dumas she worked at Moore County Hospital. They returned to Miami in 1959 and she worked at Integris Hospital for 18 years. In 1978 she started work at Miami Indian Clinic where she worked until she retired in 1988. She was preceded in death by her husband Bud who passed away in 1994 of lung cancer and their son Donald Ray who passed away in 1962 of Leukemia. She is survived by her daughter Maureen K. Wright of Enid, OK and one adopted son George Allen Dainty of Miami, 5 grandchildren and 7 great Grandchildren who gave her great delight and two very special Nephews Michael Allen Dainty of Tulsa, OK and Patrick Dainty of Tulsa, OK. Mass will be Saturday February 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miami, OK. Father Carl Kerkemeyer will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mike Dainty, Pat Dainty, Chad Dainty, Frank Foust, Blaine Taylor and John Walls. Vigil Services will be Friday, February 5, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. At the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami, Ok. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Seneca, MO. Services are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami, OK.
