      Newton Kay Payton,
      AUGUSTA - Payton, Newton Kay, 69, retired aircraft employee, passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011.
      Visitation 7-8 pm Wednesday and service 2 pm Thursday, Oct. 27, both at Headley Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
      Newt was born December 13, 1941 to Kay and Faye Payton in Delaware County, Oklahoma. He went to school in Augusta, Kansas and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps in March 1965.
      He was preceded in death by his father Kay Newton Payton and his brother Jack D. Payton.
      He is survived by his wife Sandra (Smith) Payton; sons Kurt and Aaron Payton; mother Faye Payton; sisters Mary Ann Thornton, Genice Carpenter, Beverley Clark; brother Jerry Payton; three grandsons Kyle, Zack and Jacob Payton; and many nieces and nephews.
