Jeremiah Birkenfeld, was born in Portland, Oregon to JoAnne (Emerson) and Larry Birkenfeld. Jeremiah grew up in Stevenson, where he attended Stevenson schools and Faith Tabernacle Church. He graduated from SHS in 1995. A man of many hobbies, Jeremiah loved to do a lot of things. He loved basketball, especially playing with his son Jaden, and his favorite players were Michael Jordan and Latrell Sprewell. He liked to work with his hands, whether it be fixing up and detailing cars or working outside his house. Jeremiah enjoyed snowboarding, playing video games, "Halo" in particular, paintball, cartooning, collecting baseball cards and Garfield books, and swimming in Rock Creek. He was a parent volunteer at his children's school and encouraged youngsters, including his children Shana and Jaden, in Community Youth activities. Jeremiah was a practical joker who liked to tease his friends. You could always count on him to have a big smile on his face. Survivors include his parents, Larry and JoAnne Birkenfeld of Stevenson; wife Nicole Birkenfeld of North Bonneville; daughter Shana, age 9, and son Jaden Dee, age 6, both of North Bonneville; sisters Joy and Melody, both of Stevenson; grandmother Berta Emerson of Stevenson; an numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
