      James L. Jim McCoy
      of Quapaw, OK passed from this life on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Higher Call
      Nursing Center in Quapaw. He was 70.
      Jim was born December 28, 1946 in Miami, OK to Fred Milton and
      Mary Ellen (Rhatigan) McCoy.
      He had lived in the Treece, KS, Picher and Quapaw, OK most of his life.
      He attended Columbus High School in Columbus, KS. Jim served in the U.S. Army
      during Vietnam. He worked as a security officer and an over the road truck driver.
      He was a member of the Seneca-Cayuga Nation and a member of Spring River Indian
      Baptist Church of Quapaw.
      He was preceded in death by his parents.
      Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Harder and husband Chris of Rogers, AR,
      5 brothers, Pat McCoy and wife Leslie, Mike McCoy and wife Kathy, Floyd McCoy
      and wife Deb all of Quapaw, OK, Gary McCoy and wife Gwen of Baxter Springs, KS
      and Trenton Schulze of Joplin, MO, his sister, April Jacobs of Carl Junction, MO
      and 3 grandsons, Brendon, Gavin and Keelan.
      The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Paul Thomas
      Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK.
      Inturnment will be at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery, northwest of Treece, KS.
      Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
