    Gertrude Pat Honshell-Stephens of Sapulpa died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at Continuous Care Center in Sapulpa. She was 80. Honshell-Stephens was born Nov. 11, 1926, in Jay to James Birtrum and Ola Gertrude (Crowder) Maynard. She grew up in the Turkey Ford area and attended school there. She worked as a secretary in an insurance office for many years. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Welch. She married Joe Honshell on April 16, 1960, in California. He preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Delta Black, Blanche Cook and Ramona James; one brother, Leroy Maynard, and one nephew, Walter Cook. She later married Earnie Stephens. He survives, of the home. Additional survivors include one stepson, Earnie Stephens and his wife Stacy of Mustang; one stepdaughter, Kendra and her husband Ryan; one sister, Sue Fansler of Miami; six stepgrandchildren; two nephews, Fredas Cook and his wife Fredrea of Miami and Robert J. Fansler and his wife Irene of Tiff City, Mo., and two nieces, Susan Fansler Carrigan of Miami and Jan Zachary and husband Bill of Lincoln, Calif. Services were held at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami with the Rev. Kenneth Ferris officiating. Burial location: Council House Cemetery, northeast of Grove, at a later date.
