      Olin H. Gokey of Miami died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami after a long illness. He was 84. Gokey was born June 25, 1921, in Quapaw to Jacob and Frances (Quapaw) Gokey. He attended Haskell Indian School and graduated in 1939. He attended Montana State University and received a bachelor of science degree from Missouri Southern University and received a bachelor of science degree from Mortuary Science in Dallas where he completed his formal mortuary education. He was a lifelong resident of the Miami area. He was a tire builder for B.F. Goodrich in Miami until retiring in 1975. From 1977 until 2001, he worked as an embalmer and funeral director in the Miami area. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Miami and the Knights of Columbus. On June 25, 1941, Gokey married Clara Fisher at Neosho, Mo. She preceded him in death on Jan. 14, 2001. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Fran Sue and Richard Wood of Miami; one granddaughter, Janna McCormick of McKinney, Texas; one grandson, Olin Jay Wood of Vancouver, Wash., and two great-grandsons, Jared McCormick and Gabriel McCormick, both of McKinney. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miami led by Father Gregg Elliott. Burial will follow in Council House Cemetery, northeast Grove. Pallbears were Tom Redeagle, Robert Winzerling, Tony Hall, Mark Woods, Scott Wood and Brian Foster. Honorary pallbearers were Jess McKibben, Bill Hirsch, Charlie Bill Hirsch, Don Wood, James Allen and Gene Cantrell. Indian rites were conducted at the graveside by Leonard Smith.
